We made some progress in the 1993 Regular Session in health care reform, particularly as it affects the rural areas that I represent. The Special Session addressed the crime issue as it relates to sentencing reform and prison overcrowding. But, there is still work to be done in finding a solution to the tremendous increase in juvenile crime. Our juvenile justice system must be completely overhauled.
